Animal Watchers Supports the Work of Multiple Breed Rescue

Over the years, Marcy Smith has served as a foster parent for several of MBR’s rescued dogs.  Currently, Animal Watchers donates training time for new adopters, and provides transportation of rescued dogs.   In September, Animal Watchers also hosted an information table and gave away gifts to participants at Multiple Breed Rescue’s annual “Puppy Party”.  To watch the video of the puppy party click the video:

If you would like to join us in supporting this worthy organization,  you might like to donate needed items.  Animal Watchers maintains donation barrels in both the kennel and the training building on Poorman Road in Vermilion.    When these become full, we transport the donated items to Multiple Breed Rescue’s headquarters in Elyria.

Below please find a list of needed items :

  • Dog beds and blankets
  • Towels
  • Collars and Leashes
  • Toys
  • Food and Treats

Multiple Breed Rescue is in desperate need of foster homes!  Can you provide shelter and care for a pet that is waiting for their forever home?

CARLISLE TOWNSHIP — When Amy Hunt comes home from work each day, she’s greeted by six, or sometimes more, of her closest friends. They all stick by her side, sometimes literally, while the others follow her around her farm, hungry for attention.

Hunt, 32, is the face behind a dog rescue operation out of Carlisle Township, and in the last five years she’s saved more than 500 dogs — mostly Jack Russell terriers — from kill shelters around the state. She also owns two donkeys, a half-dozen chickens, three of her own dogs and boards horses.

“All my dogs come from kill shelters on the day they are to be euthanized,” Hunt said. “And I take what other rescues won’t. If I didn’t, they’d die.”

Hunt has been around animals since she was little and her parents owned the farm where she now lives with her husband, Tyler.
